FROM HOBBY TO LIFESTYLE

It started out as a leisure activity and ended up being a lifestyle.

When we planted a small vineyard in the early 1990s, no one had imagined how extensive it would be.

We started out with 10 hectares, and quickly acquired an abundance of work hours and experience. Then we added another 10 hectares, the winery, and as we grew larger, our own awareness of organic viticulture and our responsibility towards the environment also increased.

A RIVER, A DONKEY AND A FEW ACRES OF LAND

Poor, dry, calcareous and covered with stones, the ground did not seem too convincing, but since there according to history had once grown vine, we adventured into viticulture. Vine
is one of the few plants that seem to adapt well to the particular weather conditions of the Ribera del Duero area; freezing winters, very hot summers, cold nights and warm and sunny during daytime. Rough and rustic as the name of our location, Cantaburros (singing donkeys) also seemed the right name for a wine produced under such conditions, Cantaburros became our bet and that our wine falls into good taste is a privilege.
